Toulouse, Vannes, Bastia: the complete map of France’s 2025-26 champions

The last finals, played on Sunday 5 July, brought the curtain down on the 2025-26 French rugby season. Nine months of competition and French titles handed out at every level: the professional elite, the federal and regional divisions, reserve sides, the women’s fifteens, tens and sevens championships, the youth categories and rugby league. Here is the complete round-up of every French rugby champion of 2025-26, division by division.

Top 14: Stade Toulousain keep their crown

Stade Toulousain reigned over the elite once again. Winners against Montpellier in the final (28-20) on 27 June, the Rouge et Noir retain the Brennus shield they had claimed a year earlier. Their semi-final will be remembered as the statement of the season: 71-17 against Racing 92, who had themselves knocked out Pau in the play-offs (33-31).

Opposite them, Montpellier were the surprise of the last four, seeing off Stade Français (25-15), who had been impressive in beating La Rochelle in the play-offs (45-5). MHR fall at the last step of a second title, but put together their most complete season since 2022.

At the bottom of the table, USAP saved their place in the elite with a comfortable win over Provence Rugby in the promotion play-off (47-24).

Pro D2: Vannes return to the Top 14 through the front door

Pro D2 champions Vannes sealed an immediate return to the elite by beating Provence Rugby in the final (18-14) on 6 June. The Brittany side had set the tone in the semi-final with a demolition of Oyonnax (48-7). Provence Rugby, who had beaten Brive in the play-offs (39-21) and then Colomiers away in the semi-final (36-28), missed out twice over: beaten in the final, then seen off by USAP in the promotion play-off.

At the other end of the table, Nice earned promotion to Pro D2 by beating Mont-de-Marsan in the promotion play-off (31-26).

Nationale and Nationale 2: Narbonne reconnect with their history

RC Narbonne are the Nationale champions. The Aude club edged Nice in a tight final (23-20) on 16 May, before Nice consoled themselves with promotion. In Nationale 2, Orléans took the title on 31 May with a comfortable win over Vienne (34-17).

Fédérale: Saint-Sulpice, Leucate and Saint-Raphaël on top

The Fédérale 1 title went to Saint-Sulpice-sur-Lèze, winners over Peyrehorade (24-18) on 14 June. In Fédérale 2, Leucate-Corbières enforced Aude law against Pont Long (23-18) on 28 June. And Saint-Raphaël-Fréjus closed things out on Sunday 5 July by beating Paris 15 in the Fédérale 3 final (27-16).

Regional leagues: Dijon, Rabastens and Maubourguet close the season

The regional finals shared the bill on the season’s last Sunday. In Régionale 1, Stade Dijonnais won on 5 July against Mimizan (34-24). On the same day, Régionale 2 produced the most spectacular final of the amateur year, Rabastens edging Lézat-sur-Lèze in a 79-point see-saw (42-37), while Maubourguet took Promotion Régionale 1 against Saint-Genès-Champanelle (35-26) and Pont-du-Château claimed Promotion Régionale 2 against Herm (29-23).

In Régionale 3, Tuchan had got things under way on 28 June by beating Saint-Maixent (23-10), a week after Entente Haut-Vallespir’s title in Promotion Régionale 3 against Puyoo-Salies-Sauveterre (19-17).

Reserves: titles for Thuir, Tournefeuille, Salon and Billère

The reserve sides have their champions too. In Fédérale B, Thuir beat Mouguerre (18-15) on 21 June. In Excellence B, Tournefeuille got the better of Corbières XV (25-20) on 14 June. Among the regional reserves, Salon-de-Provence snatched the Réserve R1 title by a single point against the Pays de Saint-Yrieix/URCA combination (30-29) on 28 June, while Billère-Lescar-Lons won Réserve R2-R3 against Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone (27-24) on 14 June.

Élite 1 women: Stade Bordelais on top of France in Biarritz

In the women’s Élite 1, Stade Bordelais were crowned French champions on 28 June in Biarritz with a win over Romagnat (22-10). Bordeaux made the difference through Axelle Berthoumieu, who scored the first try, and then through an omnipresent Morgane Bourgeois: a try, two conversions and a penalty, 12 points in all, before Oihana Tome Belmonte’s decisive score. For Romagnat, Elodie Fernandez kicked and scored all ten of the Auvergne side’s points.

Élite 2 women: Stade Rochelais turn the Valkyries over

In Élite 2, Stade Rochelais took the title after a tight final against Valkyries Normandie (13-10) on 6 June. Behind after Capucine Deshayes’ early try, La Rochelle turned the match around through Manon Leduc just before the break and then Valentine Lothoz, before holding off the Normandy comeback.

Women’s rugby: a packed finals day at La Roche-sur-Yon

On 6 June, La Roche-sur-Yon hosted most of the national women’s finals. itsrugby was there: a series of interviews filmed during the day will be published on the site throughout the summer.

Fédérale 1 women: Nancy-Seichamps go the distance

In Fédérale 1, Nancy-Seichamps got the better of Les Puncheuses (26-17) and take the shield back to Lorraine.

Fédérale 2 women: Racing 92 win it off the tee

In Fédérale 2, Racing 92 took the title after an attacking duel with Villeneuve-de-Marsan (36-32): six tries each, three of them from Diarra for the Paris side and two from centre Dall Erba for the Landes club, but it was off the tee, through Bailly Demay’s conversions, that the difference was made. Villeneuve-de-Marsan, who lost back-rower Blondel to a red card after half an hour, held on to the end despite being a player down.

Réserve Élite: Romagnat lay down a marker

The Réserve Élite title went to Romagnat, comfortable winners over Stade Bordelais (33-7), three weeks before the two clubs met again, with their first teams and a very different outcome, in the Élite 1 final.

U18 Élite: Stade Toulousain in charge

Among the youth sides, Stade Toulousain took the national Under-18 Élite title with a win over Agen (39-12). Ahead at the break (17-0), Toulouse leaned on their pack and on the pace of wing Bidard Datchary, who scored three tries.

U18 Accès: Aurillac end the Dax run

In the Accès final, Aurillac made a statement: an emphatic 41-0 against a Dax side that had not lost in 18 matches, and who were already 22-0 down at half-time.

Women’s tens and sevens: Les Ponettes of Bastia make history

Women’s ten-a-side rugby produced two remarkable stories. Les Ponettes gave Corsica a national shield unique in the island’s rugby history by winning the French over-18 championship in Vierzon. In the under-18 category, the Amazones de l’Astarac, a Gers combination created only two years ago, were crowned French champions on 13 June in Vierzon against the Força XV/Millas/Têt combination. In sevens, finally, it was the Occitanie representative side that took the French under-18 title, in a tournament contested by the regional leagues.

Espoirs: Clermont French champions, UBB take the Challenge

The Espoirs (Reichel Élite) title went to Clermont, winners over Stade Toulousain in the final (26-21) on 6 June. A week earlier, UBB had won the Challenge de France, the category’s other trophy, against Oyonnax (26-14). In Espoirs Accession, Vannes completed a double with their senior side by beating Nevers (15-12). Tyrosse won the Espoirs Nationaux title against Marmande (19-9), and Nafarroa took the Espoirs Fédéraux crown in a nail-biter against FCTT (26-24).

Youth: MHR rule the Crabos, Toulouse the Alamercery

In the under-18 category, Montpellier were crowned Crabos champions on 20 June at the expense of Bègles-Bordeaux (26-23), while Cœur Toulousain (the TOEC-TOAC combination) took the National U18 title by a single point against Nîmes (28-27) on 13 June. In the under-16s, Stade Toulousain cruised through the Alamercery final against Bègles-Bordeaux (38-17) on 4 July, and the Vincennes-Rosny combination caused a shock in National U16 against Stade Nantais (27-26). Racing 92 won the Gaudermen championship against the Grand Pau combination (34-22) on 13 June.

At regional level, XV de la Dombes beat Ris-Orangis in the Régional 1 U19 final (24-5) and Mazamet took the U16 title against Sud 29 Quimper (34-10), on 20 June.

Supersevens: UBB the queens of summer

Played at the start of the season, the Supersevens turned into a Bordeaux demonstration: UBB 7 won both legs, in La Rochelle against Monaco 7 and in Mont-de-Marsan against Racing 92 7.

Rugby league: Pia dethrone Carcassonne by a point

The French Élite rugby league champions are Pia. The Catalan side turned Carcassonne over by the narrowest of margins in the final (31-30) on 6 June. A cruel repeat for Carcassonne, already beaten in the final the previous season.
