PublishedPollard ruled out, Erasmus goes back to the fly-half he had dropped
Rassie Erasmus had made his call on Monday: Handre Pollard would wear the South African number 10 for the second Test against the All Blacks, with Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu dropping to the bench. A calf injury picked up in training overturned the decision. The dropped fly-half gets his place back, and South Africa already have a lot riding on Saturday in Cape Town: 1-0 down in a four-Test series, they have not beaten New Zealand since September 2025.

PublishedKuruvoli held up: what Vannes might owe Fiji
RC Vannes are still waiting for Simione Kuruvoli. The Fijian scrum-half, signed from the Fijian Drua, trained at the end of July before vanishing from sessions: he still had not joined the Brittany club on Wednesday, for administrative reasons the club has not detailed. One possible explanation is the training compensation set out by World Rugby, £5,000 per year spent between the ages of 17 and 23 in the home union. It would also be the only one that cannot justify any hold-up at all.
