Two of them were injured in the second Bledisloe Test in Sydney.
The All Blacks will travel to Europe without three forwards. Shannon Frizell, Samisoni Taukei’aho and Tyrel Lomax have been ruled out for around six weeks, the All Blacks announced on Saturday, RugbyPass reported.
Two casualties from the Bledisloe
Frizell, back in the Test squad after three seasons in Japan, hurt his knee in the second Bledisloe Test in Sydney last Saturday, a 43-21 win. Scans revealed a ruptured posterior cruciate ligament. The back-rower had been named on the bench for both Tests against Australia. Hooker Taukei’aho also failed to finish the match with a torn calf. He had scored a try off the bench on 5 September in South Africa.
Lomax stays at home
Tyrel Lomax has aggravated an existing disc injury, and the management has decided to leave him in New Zealand to give it time to heal ahead of a World Cup year in 2027. The tighthead started the first three of the four Tests in South Africa in late August and early September, and has not featured in a matchday squad since 13 September.
Further injuries are still being assessed, including that of Richie Mo’unga, ahead of Tuesday’s naming of a 36-man squad. New Zealand face Scotland on 7 November, Wales on 14 November and England on 21 November, before the Nations Championship finals weekend.
