Tasman wing Kyren Taumoefolau scored five tries as his side won 50-35 away to Counties Manukau on Sunday, in Round 3 of the NPC.

The 23-year-old Tongan had already scored a hat-trick in Round 1, against North Harbour (31-29). He has eight tries in three matches, from 240 minutes on the pitch. In between, Tasman had suffered a heavy defeat at Hawke’s Bay (50-19).
His Super Rugby season with the Chiefs had already served as a warning: ten tries in thirteen matches. He also won four caps for Tonga in 2023, scoring two tries.
