The Rodolphe Saadé lead in the search for Bernard Lemaître’s successor at Toulon lasted only a few days.

Blog RCT says it was contacted directly by the CMA CGM press office, which denied any intention of buying the club. The idea had been circulating since late October, after claims by Marseille influencer Choukry-TV, with nothing to back them up.

The succession stays open

The denial does not change the search for a buyer. Blog RCT recalls that Bernard Lemaître, who has been preparing his exit for several years, explained in January that he had turned down three offers, and has hired an investment bank. The Toulon president links any takeover to reducing the club’s structural deficit and progress on the new stadium project.
