At just 21, Mathis Ferté is already seen as one of the great hopes of French rugby. Having arrived at Brive in 2018, the young player, still under contract until 2028, is nonetheless preparing to turn the page on his time in the Corrèze.

Courted notably by La Rochelle, Ferté has finally given his agreement to Rugby Club Toulonnais. A three-season contract awaits him on the Rade, while the Var club’s directors have reached a financial agreement with CAB to release their player.

Versatile, Ferté can play at full-back, on the wing, at centre, or indeed at scrum-half – the position he filled in his last seven appearances for Brive. A rare and precious profile, who bolsters a Toulon squad already in the middle of a renewal, after the recent announcement of the arrival of Patrick Tuifua (20), a promising back-rower.
