Nevers sign Kamikamica as injury cover

After a trial at Clermont in recent weeks, Kitione Kamikamica (30, 1.88 m, 110 kg) was confirmed by Nevers on Wednesday, Le Journal du Centre reports.

No game since September 2025

A product of Bordeaux-Bègles, Kamikamica played for Vannes (on loan in 2018-19), Brive (2019-2022) and Racing 92 (2022-2024), before returning to Vannes for two seasons. His last official game was on September 12, 2025, at No.8 in Vannes’ 30-28 defeat at Mont-de-Marsan. He played only two Pro D2 games last season, after seven in the Top 14 in 2024-25.

Nine defeats in nine rounds

Nevers have yet to win this season. Their first four defeats were all by fewer than five points, against Montauban (21-25) and Biarritz (20-22) at home and away at Narbonne (28-26) and Béziers (21-20). The next five were all by more than fifteen points, including a 38-7 home defeat to Agen.

“We probably made a big mistake by wanting to play a young, inexperienced team. We have lost our senior players. We have no second row and no back row left,” president Régis Dumange admitted after the 33-12 defeat to Brive, as quoted by Rugbyrama.

Nevers travel to Valence Romans on Friday in round 10.
