Gonzalo Quesada will miss only one match. World Rugby’s independent disciplinary committee has cut the Italy head coach’s ban from two matches to one, it announced on Friday.
The Argentine had been sanctioned for describing France’s Luc Ramos’ officiating as “very poor”, after Italy’s heavy defeat to New Zealand (47-17) in Wellington. He appealed.
The committee took his apology into account in reducing the punishment. Quesada will serve his ban on Saturday, for Italy’s trip to Australia in Perth, and will then return to the bench.
