Landes rugby gets its classic fixture back on Friday 14 August at 9.15pm. Pro D2 side US Dax host Stade Montois, who will play in Nationale this season, in a pre-season derby that means more than a simple warm-up.
Stade Montois have scheduled just one match before the start of Nationale, on 21 August against Vienne. So it will be in Dax, against a Pro D2 side, with a derby as a full-scale test. “It’s a derby that will be difficult. US Dax are a big team, and they now play in the division above us,” head coach Romain Mareuil pointed out. “We’re mainly focused on the group’s behaviour and mindset, more than on Friday’s result.”

What is new this season is the pecking order: the two clubs no longer play in the same division. Dax start their Pro D2 campaign on 27 August, Stade Montois their Nationale season on the 21st.
