RC Toulon have confirmed Corentin Mézou’s contract extension until June 2029. The lock, born on 20 April 2005, is only 21 but already has two full seasons in the Var club’s rotation behind him, along with a well-stocked age-grade international career. The club is tying down a player it grew itself.

His international record follows the same line. Mézou has played eighteen matches for France U20: two Six Nations campaigns and two World Cups, with four to five starts each time. That is rare consistency across two successive age-grade generations.
One detail the match reports disagree on
Accounts of his arrival at Toulon differ by a season. The facts are simpler: he was playing for the Vannes Espoirs in 2022-2023, then appears in the Toulon Espoirs squad from 2023-2024, before his first Top 14 matches in 2024-2025. So he joined the Var club in the summer of 2023, not a year later.
The youngest and the most committed in his position
In the second row, Toulon go into 2026-2027 with four players: David Ribbans, Swan Rebbadj, Matthias Halagahu and Mézou. The Brittany-born lock is the youngest of the four by four years, and the only one tied to the club until 2029. Rebbadj, for his part, comes to the end of his deal in 2027.
