The decision was taken at the request of the local authorities, with police resources stretched.

Football first, now rugby. The French league (LNR) announced on Thursday that two games from round 9 of the Top 14, scheduled for the weekend of 7 and 8 November, have been moved “at the request of the prefecture regarding the availability of the police”, amid social protests that have already disrupted Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 fixtures for several weeks, RMC Sport noted.

Vannes v Bordeaux pushed back, Toulouse v Clermont brought forward

Vannes against Union Bordeaux-Begles, being played at the Stade de la Beaujoire in Nantes, was due to kick off on Saturday 7 November at 2.30pm. It will now take place the following day, Sunday 8 November in the afternoon, at a time the LNR will confirm later.

To keep a 2.30pm game on the Saturday, in line with its commitments to broadcaster Canal+, the league has brought forward Stade Toulousain v Clermont, originally part of the 4.35pm multiplex. The Top 14 leaders will host Clermont two hours earlier. The rest of the round is unchanged.
