World Rugby has revealed the officials chosen to take charge of France’s three test matches during the November tour. Whistles the French know well...

We now know the referees appointed for the November international window. As far as France are concerned, the three autumn fixtures have been entrusted to “respected figures” of world refereeing.

So Australia’s Angus Gardner will referee the clash between France and South Africa on 8 November at the Stade de France, having already taken charge of the last match played by Fabien Galthié’s men in New Zealand, on the last summer tour. Or, further back still, France’s win in Ireland in the last Six Nations, where Dupont notably left his knee in a ruck after some robust clear-outs from Beirne and Porter. The referee’s decision (simply a “rugby incident“) was, in fact, disputed.

The following week, in Bordeaux against Fiji, it is Christophe Ridley (England) who will take the whistle. For the last test of the series, against the Wallabies, another Englishman, Luke Pearce, has been appointed by World rugby.

Among the French officials selected, Pierre Brousset will notably take charge of the clash between New Zealand and Ireland on 1 November in Chicago, then England-Argentina on 23 November. Luc Ramos has also been confirmed for two matches: Scotland-Tonga and Wales-South Africa. As for Jérémy Rozier, he has been appointed to referee Romania-Uruguay on 22 November.
