The lights are turning green for Stade Toulousain. Unavailable for the semi-final against Racing 92, Thomas Ramos has returned to full training this week and will be at Ugo Mola’s disposal for the final, on Saturday night at the Stade de France. And the two other doubts from the semi have cleared up as well.

Ramos back for the final

The France full-back and goal-kicker injured a thigh in the warm-up before the last match of the regular season, at Racing 92 on 6 June. Short of fitness, he pulled out of the semi-final in Marseille, where Blair Kinghorn filled the number 15 shirt and Romain Ntamack took care of the kicks at goal with a 100% record.

Barring a relapse in the last forty-eight hours, the leading points scorer in the history of the championship’s finals is an option again. It remains to be seen whether the staff start him or keep him on the bench, given how decisive he has been in the seven finals won since 2019.

Roumat and Chocobares not ruled out

The two other cases concerned Alexandre Roumat, who went off with an ankle sprain, and Santiago Chocobares, treated after a blow to the head at the Vélodrome. In both cases, the tests brought grounds for hope: neither is ruled out for the final, and their involvement remains a serious possibility.

Roumat’s return would be valuable. The back-rower is an essential cog in Mola’s set-up, particularly in the lineout, in a side already without Anthony Jelonch, Léo Banos and Mathis Castro-Ferreira, whose seasons are over, and where Théo Ntamack has been held up by physical niggles.
