Former Bayonne manager Grégory Patat will not be out of work for long. The coach has agreed to join Brive, in Pro D2, where he is due to sign a three-year contract next week.

A few weeks after the end of his adventure with the Basque club, and according to information from our colleagues at Sud-Ouets, Patat has struck an agreement with the Corrèze board, who were looking for a new coach for next season.

At Brive, he is set to succeed Pierre-Henry Broncan, the club’s director of rugby, who has chosen to leave Corrèze to join the Georgian Federation.

The Gers-born coach, who worked in various backroom staffs at La Rochelle and Perpignan before taking charge of Bayonne, should officially sign his contract in the coming days once he has settled the last administrative details with his former club.

Sixth in Pro D2 this season, Brive hope to relaunch an ambitious sporting project with Patat’s arrival; he is expected in Corrèze shortly to meet the staff and get a first look at the club’s facilities.
