RC Toulon are already busy putting together their coaching set-up for next season. According to information from L’Équipe, the Var club are notably looking at the profiles of Joan Caudullo and Franck Azéma for the head coach role.
That thinking comes as current manager Pierre Mignoni, worn down by an intense season, could in time move away from the pitch to focus on a broader role close to that of director of rugby.

Among the leads under consideration is Joan Caudullo, currently manager of Montpellier. Under contract until 2027 with the Hérault club, the former hooker has turned his team around on the pitch, and they are now very well placed in the race for the Top 14 play-offs.
Another profile being weighed up: Franck Azéma, an experienced coach who has been through Clermont and then Toulon, where he had already worked with Mignoni in the 2022-2023 season. Currently a free agent after a spell at Perpignan cut short, he too is among the options being studied by the Var club’s board.
