Good news for MHR. On Wednesday, the Hérault club announced the extension of number 8 Billy Vunipola (33) by a further season, taking him through to 2027.

Having arrived last season from Saracens to open a new chapter in his rich career, the England international (74 caps) has delivered. Last year, Vunipola took part in 27 matches across all competitions.

At this stage of the season, he has taken part in seven matches, six of them as a starter. In recent weeks, the trend had been pointing more towards a departure.
