Maddison Levi is changing formats. The 24-year-old star of Australian sevens has been called up for the first time by the Wallaroos, Australia’s fifteens side, for the trip to New Zealand.
Levi is in the extended squad named to face the Black Ferns on 22 August in Auckland, in the 100th Test in Wallaroos history. At 24, she has never worn the Australian fifteens jersey.
269 tries in 194 sevens games
Since the 2021-2022 season, the Australian has played 194 international sevens games and scored 269 tries, or 1.4 per game. Her 2025-2026 campaign was her most productive: 50 tries in 31 games, at a rate of 1.6 per game.

The reverse of Antoine Dupont’s path
In 2024, Levi was named women’s sevens player of the year, the same year Antoine Dupont took the men’s award. The Toulouse star had left fifteens for sevens and Olympic gold; the Australian is making the journey the other way, with an eye on the home Rugby World Cup in 2029.
