Round 18 of Top 14 left its mark on the France internationals, with at least two withdrawals and one notable doubt, just days before Saturday’s trip to Scotland.

Tighthead prop Tevita Tatafu, who went off injured during Bayonne’s defeat to Clermont, has a sprained elbow and has had to pull out of joining up with France on Monday 2 March. He is replaced in the extended squad by Demba Bamba, recalled to strengthen the rotation in the tighthead position.

Lock Hugo Auradou, a replacement against Ireland, has also been forced to withdraw after a hamstring injury sustained during Pau’s win over Bordeaux-Bègles. As it happens, it is Bordeaux’s Cameron Woki who has been called up to cover that absence in the 42-man squad.

The situation remains uncertain, however, for scrum-half Baptiste Serin. The Toulon man was placed under the concussion protocol after a blow to the head during the draw with Lyon and must go through the required medical steps, leaving doubt hanging over his involvement in the game against Scotland.
