She will keep playing for the Waratahs in Super Rugby Women’s.

Part of the Australian set-up since 2015, Emily Chancellor had to wait until 2018 for her first cap, against the Black Ferns in Sydney. She played at two World Cups, in 2021 and 2025, and became the 19th captain in Wallaroos history in 2025.

One last Test in Canberra

Friday’s WXV match against Scotland will be her final appearance in Australian colours. The Wallaroos beat Scotland 56-12 in Sydney last Saturday.

“The privilege of representing Australia is one that I will hold close to my chest for a lifetime, but after eight years I’ve decided the time is right to close this chapter,” she said in a Rugby Australia statement. She added that she can’t wait to support the Wallaroos all the way to the 2029 home World Cup.
