Beaten 55-7 and 47-19 by Bordeaux last season, Toulon scored five tries at Mayol on Sunday, in the first Élite 1 game streamed for free by the French federation on Mon Club House.
Bordeaux punished early
Montserrat Amédée was sin-binned in the 2nd minute, and Lilou Cozar and Audrey Puakavase scored while she was off. Oihana Tomé-Belmonte left the field after a blue card in the 28th, a second yellow followed for Sarah-Maude Lachance, and Tifen Lesieu made it 17-0. Camille Meguerba and Sueline Tavares Monteiro added second-half tries and Chloé Vial kicked three conversions. Valentine Lothoz scored Bordeaux’s only try on the hour.
Toulouse pull away in Montpellier
Trailing 10-7 after Marine Bérenger’s try, Toulouse scored four second-half tries to win 38-17. Amalia Argudo, Pauline Bourdon Sansus, Océane Bordes and Mado Bidard all crossed, and Bordes added four conversions. With two bonus-point wins, Toulouse lead Toulon by a point.
Bonus points for Romagnat and Grenoble
At the Michelin, Romagnat led promoted La Rochelle 31-0 at the break. Salomé Perraudin and Élise Pignot both scored twice in a seven-try win (43-7). Head coach Fabrice Ribeyrolles still told Rugbyrama he was “in a bad mood”, regretting wasted chances near the line.
Grenoble won away to Lyon 32-11 thanks to a hat-trick from No 8 Alexia Le Floch, after losing in Bordeaux in round 1.
Blagnac win a thriller
In Bobigny, Blagnac trailed 17-7 after a penalty try in the 52nd minute, with two of their players in the sin bin. Margaux Jeannin and Charlotte Rufas, who scored twice, turned it around (17-19). Bobigny take a second losing bonus point in two rounds.
