AS Béziers Hérault can count on the loyalty of their captain. The Hérault club confirmed on Friday that Clément Ancely has extended his contract. Initially tied to ASBH until 2025, with an option for 2026, the 32-year-old back-rower has finally signed a new deal running until 2028. A powerful decision for a player who embodies the club’s identity.

Developed at Béziers, Ancely had left the Hérault to play for Bayonne, Massy and then Grenoble, before returning to the Stade Raoul-Barrière last season. An undisputed leader on and off the pitch, he played 28 matches last term, for an impressive total of 2,045 minutes. This season, before his injury, he had already featured in 14 games, scoring a try against Provence Rugby in the fourth round.

With ASBH going through a period of uncertainty, this extension sends a strong signal of stability around one of the squad’s senior figures.
