The Top 14 leaders are already preparing for next season. After the arrival of Montpellier scrum-half Léo Coly, Aviron Bayonnais have secured another signing, that of Springbok Robert Du Preez (32, 1 cap). The fly-half or centre (he can also fill in at full-back) arrives from Sale where, over four seasons, he was regularly paired with Manu Tuilagi.
Du Preez has signed with the Basque club until 2028. He will also have the chance to come up against his brother, back-rower Jean-Luc Du Preez, a new signing at UBB. In 2018, he was capped by South Africa in a match against Wales.
