AS Béziers Hérault are strengthening their back line with the arrival of Baltazar Amaya, a Uruguay international with 13 caps. The versatile three-quarter has signed until 2027 with the Pro D2 club, who confirmed the deal on Tuesday afternoon. Able to play on the wing, at full-back or in the centre, Amaya arrives in France to take on a new challenge and to make up for the departure of Gabin Lorre to Lyon.

Having made his name at the 2023 World Cup, the 24-year-old stood out against France with a much-noticed try, before shining with a brace against Namibia.

A complete player, Amaya is also a mainstay of Uruguay’s sevens side, with whom he took part in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, scoring three tries. His versatility and explosiveness make him a major signing for Béziers, who have solid ambitions for the season ahead.
