Anthony Belleau is enjoying himself at Northampton. The proof: the France fly-half (29, 12 caps) extended his contract with the Saints on Tuesday. A return to France was under consideration. In the end it will not happen.

Used 13 times this season across all competitions, Belleau has taken everyone by surprise with a string of impressive performances. He notably landed a decisive penalty against Gloucester before scoring a brace in the game against Leicester.

“Last season, when I made the decision to leave France, it was a real challenge for me as a rugby player. I did not know whether I would be able to do it, but when the Saints’ offer came in, I wanted to give everything“, the fly-half said, in the statement released by his club.

After spells at Toulon and Clermont, Belleau made the ambitious choice of moving to England and Northampton, a landing spot for several Frenchmen. Matthieu Bourret, David Dantiacq, Louis Picamoles, Christian Labit, David Gérard and Olivier Brouzet have all worn the Saints shirt.
