Next summer, Stade Toulousain fully intend to bring back Valentin Delpy, under contract until 2028, and fold this rough diamond into their rotation. The information was picked up by our colleagues at La Dépêche du Midi.

It is news that will not delight his loan club, Colomiers, who now have to plan for the young gem’s departure. The club from the Toulouse suburbs are looking at several options in Pro D2 to replace him. The name of Thibault Debaës, 24, currently at Vannes Rugby Club, is among those doing the rounds internally.

Since arriving at the club in 2025, Delpy has established himself as a senior figure in the dressing room and as one of the most promising young fly-halves in Pro D2, with 8 matches played and 94 points scored this season.

His return to Toulouse, made official by the Toulouse board earlier this week, is a mark of the faith placed in him in the short term. For Colomiers, a chapter is closing: the club will need to identify a serious replacement quickly if they are to keep their sporting ambitions in Pro D2 alive.
