Founded eighteen years ago north of Nantes, Stade Treillierain was born of a collective passion and grew through the strength of its group. From a handful of enthusiasts with no fixed pitch to a set-up of more than 200 registered members and 30 volunteers, the road travelled is remarkable. Thomas Cingarlini, the club’s president, sums up the mindset that has always driven Treillières: “There are fine values here, a family atmosphere, and a desire to help the club grow.” It is on those human foundations that ST have built themselves, season after season.

Régionale 2 champions

On 3 May, in Clisson, Treillières wrote one of the finest pages in their history: Régionale 2 champions. In the final, the club won 31-14 against SAC Châteaubriant to claim the title and confirm promotion to Régionale 1 next season. A deserved reward for a squad that has never stopped improving, and a first at this level for Treillières.

A rugby school making its mark

Beyond the senior side, it is the club’s whole ecosystem that is developing. The rugby school is posting fine results and is waiting for confirmation of its FFR one-star accreditation. Last year, the rugby school won the Clisson tournament, and this season the U14s, in a joint set-up with XV de l’Erdre, produced good results in the Grand Ouest challenge. The next generation is there.

A logistical challenge: recruiting players, volunteers and partners

Promotion to Régionale 1 is a source of pride — but also a logistical challenge. To line up at that level with a first team and a competitive second string, the club needs reinforcements:

  • Players: around twenty additional players are wanted, in all positions and at all levels, to bolster the squad and allow the second string to operate fully.
  • Volunteers: the ST adventure rests on people giving their time. Whether you want to help with organisation, with looking after the seniors and the rugby school, or with day-to-day club life, your commitment will be welcome.
  • Partners: for local businesses and stakeholders, joining the ST adventure means supporting a sporting project rooted in the area, growing fast, with ever-increasing visibility.

Facilities keeping pace

The club has ambitions and is giving itself the means to achieve them. It has a synthetic pitch and is currently working with the local council to develop its facilities, with regular meetings to discuss the needs that come with this new dimension. Because Treillières do not do things by halves: promotion to Régionale 1 is a step, not an end point.

Eighteen years old, the age when anything is possible. For Treillières, the best is yet to come.
