Ronan O’Gara will not be suspended. The Ligue Nationale de Rugby disciplinary panel made its decision on Wednesday: no disciplinary sanction was imposed on the Stade Rochelais manager, who had been reported by the officials during the trip to Toulouse on 17 May, in round 24 of the Top 14.

The Irish manager had been summoned to answer for his behaviour during the match against Stade Toulousain. After examining the case, the panel found there was no cause to take disciplinary measures against him. The decision allows La Rochelle to go into the championship’s final sprint unhindered, with a full complement of staff.

The absence of a suspension is a relief for the seaside club. Ronan O’Gara, the driving force behind the La Rochelle project since his arrival, remains fully focused on the decisive closing rounds of the Top 14.
