A look back at round 6 of Nationale 2, played on 17 and 18 October.

Stade Nantais made it six wins from six on Saturday, while Pool 2 has a new look after Saint-Jean-de-Luz lost at Valence d’Agen.

Nantes still perfect, Langon keep pace

Against Saint-Medard-en-Jalles, Stade Nantais scored seven tries through seven different players (49-5) and collected another attacking bonus point. With 225 points scored, they have the best attack across both Nationale 2 pools. This six-win start is a contrast with the end of last season, which finished with two defeats, at Saint-Jean-de-Luz and then at Rumilly.

Stade Langonnais stay in touch (31-15 against Stade Metropolitain, bonus point included). Ilan Bentejac scored twice and Bastien Beffara added one just before half-time, his seventh of the season: no player in Nationale 2 has more. Behind them, Rumilly won with a bonus point at Macon (35-10) and climb to third, ahead of Annonay, who beat Drancy 33-0.

In Geneva, Alexis Pisani kicked all 21 of Servette’s points from the tee (five penalties, three conversions) against Marmande (36-12). Floirac beat Salles 32-12 with five tries.

Aubenas alone at the top of Pool 2

Aubenas moved clear at the top of Pool 2 by beating Mauleon 42-14, with two tries from Arnaud Sola. Saint-Jean-de-Luz, level with them a week ago, lost 33-20 at Valence d’Agen and took no losing bonus point, as the margin was more than seven points. They drop to third.

Graulhet take advantage to move up to second. After winning 13-8 at Tricastin, with one try apiece, the Tarn club have five wins from six games without a single attacking bonus point.

Tyrosse post the biggest margin of the season

Tyrosse beat Fleurance 50-0 with seven tries, the widest margin of the Nationale 2 season so far, ahead of Auch’s 52-3 win over Aubenas in round 2. Auch also kept a clean sheet against La Seyne (38-0), who are still without a win after six rounds. Nimes took a bonus-point win over Peyrehorade (46-12), with two tries each from Esteban Jouve and Julien Burguillos.
