Results, key moments and tables for all four pools after round 6 of Federale 1.
Pool 1 now has only one perfect record left. Tours, who had won their first five games, lost at home to Beauvais on Sunday (37-38), while Saint-Jean-en-Royans and Agde kept their 100% records.
Tours caught in the final quarter
The game of the round was in Tours. The hosts led thanks to a brace from Kerry Techer, his second try coming on 65 minutes, but Beauvais replied through Matthias Mendes (68′), Jonathan Lauvray-Prugnaud (73′) and Rachid Bina (75′). Five tries in all for the visitors, who climb to third, and a first defeat of the season for Tours, who keep a losing bonus point.
Saint-Jean-en-Royans now lead by four points. Their 64-9 win at PUC, with ten tries including an Antoine Grataloup hat-trick, makes it six wins from six, four of them away. The club had never strung together more than three straight wins in Federale 1 over the previous three seasons. Grataloup moves on to six tries, level at the top of the try-scoring chart with Paul Lebrault (Tours), Maxime Rourre (Anglet), Fano Soulage (Saint-Sulpice-sur-Leze) and Jules Razous (Blagnac). At the bottom, Annecy, beaten 17-21 by Courbevoie, are still looking for a first win.
Agde survive again
In pool 2, Agde held on against Palavas (34-32), who closed to two points with a late Vincent Coste brace (70′, 74′). Six wins from six: like Saint-Jean-en-Royans, Agde had not put together such a run in the past three seasons. Monaco remain closest after a 54-19 win over Leucate-Corbieres (eight tries, braces for Luca Cutayar and Lucas Viera). Gruissan won 64-14 at Bedarrides-Chateauneuf, who stay bottom.
Blagnac respond, three-way tie in pool 4
Beaten in Limoges last week, Blagnac responded against Saint-Sulpice-sur-Leze (36-23), with another brace from Jules Razous. They lead pool 3 ahead of Sarlat, who beat Limoges 16-7 and have five wins despite a negative points difference. Tulle, beaten 39-8 in Gaillac (Thomas Farret hat-trick), have lost all six. L’Isle-Jourdain and Castelnaudary each have a game in hand.
Pool 4 is the tightest: Anglet (24-20 against Pont-Long), Bagneres (31-9 at Oloron) and Gujan-Mestras (41-12 against Layrac) share top spot on 27 points. Anglet and Bagneres, who drew 22-22 in round 4, are still unbeaten. Lannemezan, beaten at home by Monflanquin (28-43), stay bottom.
