Federale 1 round 5: Blagnac fall, three clubs five from five

Three clubs have won every game after five rounds of Federale 1: Tours and Saint-Jean-en-Royans in pool 1, Agde in pool 2.

Tours won 43-35 in Auxerre, Saint-Jean-en-Royans beat Bievre – Saint-Geoirs 42-19, and both have 24 points at the top of pool 1. In pool 2, Agde won 33-31 in Berre and have 23 points, three more than Leucate-Corbieres, who beat XV du Coudon (34-7).

Blagnac caught at the top of pool 3

Unbeaten leaders Blagnac lost 28-17 in Limoges. Saint-Sulpice-sur-Leze, one-point winners over Gaillac (20-19), and Sarlat, who won 10-9 in Cahors, drew level: all three have 19 points. Tulle, beaten 35-24 by Grenade, are still without a win.

Anglet ahead in pool 4

Anglet won 31-24 in Lourdes and go top on 23 points, one more than Bagneres, who beat Pont-Long 30-28, and Gujan-Mestras, beaten 35-33 in Soustons. Anglet and Bagneres, with a draw each, remain unbeaten.

Seven games decided by two points or fewer

Three games were decided by a single point: Cahors v Sarlat (9-10), Saint-Sulpice-sur-Leze v Gaillac (20-19) and Ceret v Chateaurenard (25-26). Four more by two points: Berre v Agde (31-33), Bagneres v Pont-Long (30-28), Layrac v Oloron (25-23) and Soustons v Gujan-Mestras (35-33).
