At La Rochelle, Antoine Hastoy’s future is uncertain. And yet he extended until 2029 two years ago. Today, those last three years of contract are hanging by a thread. Our colleagues at L’Equipe explain that the international fly-half (28, 10 caps) “no longer figures in the plans” of manager Ronan O’Gara.
The Maritime club are said to have reached an agreement at the same time with Scotland international Ben Healy (26, 10 caps). A win-win swap? Not really, especially when you look at the latter’s game time with Edinburgh.
But where could Antoine Hastoy land? Signing up the former Section Paloise fly-half would come at a certain cost. All the more so as it is hard to imagine the La Rochelle man accepting number 2 status. The coming weeks should be decisive in a file that is far from closed.
