Another star of international rugby is arriving in Pro D2. Provence Rugby, semi-finalists in the competition last season, will welcome Caleb Muntz (25) from 1 October, as announced on their social media.

A top-class international fly-half for Provence Rugby

A genuinely good piece of business for the Provence side, who attract a big-name player to cover the long absence of their fly-half Jules Plisson, who suffered a serious knee injury in April. A good organiser and accurate in the kicking game, Muntz has established himself over the past 3 years in the Fiji side, for whom he has 14 caps. His knee injury in 2023 was hugely damaging for the island nation, deprived of their playmaker and goal-kicker for the World Cup.

“Caleb is a Fijian fly-half trained in New Zealand, hugely talented, said Provence Rugby’s director of rugby Philippe Saint-André on the club’s website. Fiji had been waiting a long time for a number 10 of that level, and he has often been excellent with the national side.“

This year, Muntz played in 6 Super Rugby matches with his Fijian Drua franchise and started Fiji’s most recent test match, narrowly lost on Sunday to Australia (21-18). Tied to Provence Rugby until 2028, he adds to an already well-stocked contingent of big CVs in Pro D2 and will be one of the players to watch in the competition.
