Rassie Erasmus continues to bolster his staff ahead of the 2027 World Cup. The South Africa head coach confirmed on Monday the arrival of a new performance analyst: Joe Lewis. The Welshman held the same role with England only a few weeks ago.

A former Scarlets and Ospreys man, Lewis has a strong reputation in his field. He was also part of the England staff when Eddie Jones was in charge of the national side in 2017.

“We are delighted to welcome Joe into the Springbok set-up“, enthused Rassie Erasmus. Before continuing: “Given his vast experience in technical and performance analysis, at both international and club level, we believe he will add great value to the group as we prepare for a busy and exciting season, as well as further ahead with the 2027 World Cup in mind“.
