A first, and what a first! Scotland’s Hollie Davidson will become, in round 21 of the Top 14, the first woman in history to referee in the top flight of the French championship.

Recently named World Rugby’s referee of the year, Davidson is due to take charge on 18 or 19 April – the date has yet to be settled – for the meeting between Clermont and Lyon.

Another woman, Aurélie Groizeleau, already referees in Pro D2 and was in the middle for several matches at the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup.
