Rob Leota joins Clermont as injury cover

He had not played since March.

Rob Leota left Bayonne with immediate effect despite a contract running to 2027. Clermont, short of several second and back-row forwards, moved quickly to bolster their pack.

An Australia international

The 29-year-old has won 21 caps for the Wallabies, between 2021 and the 2023 World Cup. He played 56 games for the Melbourne Rebels before joining Bayonne, where he made twelve appearances. His last game was on 21 March.

Much-needed cover

Eleventh in the Top 14, Clermont have lost three in a row and travel to Vannes on Saturday.
