Coveted by numerous French clubs and for a long time, George Ford will not be coming to France. The England fly-half (32, 102 caps) has just extended his contract on Wednesday with his club Sale, until 2029. The former Leicester and Bath fly-half joined the club in 2022, scoring 329 points so far.
“I am delighted to sign this contract. I want to keep playing well for Sale Sharks and I want to keep influencing the team as much as possible. That is my priority“, said a pleased George Ford, in a statement published by Sale Sharks.
A starter three times since the beginning of the season, the England metronome has already scored 30 points and is contributing to his side’s strong start.
At Stade Français, they are busy too with next season in mind. As well as the extensions of Gabrillagues, Dakuwaqa, Ward and Chapuis, the Paris club have secured the signing of hooker Tomasi Maka (23). The Australian arrives from Moana Pasifika.
Excellent with Tasman in the NPC, Maka scored 9 tries in 11 matches. That arrival will therefore push Lucas Peyresblanques towards the exit. Several clubs are already interested. Note that England fly-half Zack Henry will not be extended either.
