Toulon confirmed on Thursday 19 March the signing of fly-half Luka Keletaona, 20, from Brive on a three-year contract, rubber-stamping a deal that had been talked about for several weeks.

A product of the CA Brive academy, the young fly-half recently caught the eye with France U20, for whom he was one of the architects of the Grand Slam in the Six Nations. A starter four times in five matches, he scored 41 points and confirmed his status as a key man in the France U20 side.

Still used sparingly in Pro D2 this season, with only a handful of appearances in the professional side, Keletaona nevertheless embodies one of the most closely watched prospects of his generation.

At Toulon, he will add depth to an already competitive fly-half berth occupied by the likes of Italy international Paolo Garbisi and Argentina’s Tomás Albornoz.
