Bayonne will no longer post on X, the former Twitter bought by Elon Musk.
“Aviron Bayonnais Rugby Pro and the X platform: it’s officially over. Thank you for your loyalty!” the club wrote on Monday, directing supporters to Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn instead. No reason was given. According to La Dépêche, the club’s last post on X dated back to 5 June, with the team for the final round of the 2025-2026 season.
Aviron thus follow three other Top 14 clubs: Bordeaux-Bègles in May 2025, Clermont in spring 2026 and Lyon in August. At Clermont, communications director Vincent Duvivier told RugbyPass that it had become the network “that divided the most”.
