SU Agen unveiled their artificial pitch on Friday night. They conceded 37 points and saw three of their players head to the treatment room on the same evening.

Demotte off in the 22nd minute

William Demotte dislocated a finger and left the field in the 22nd minute. “He dislocated his finger,” confirmed Mauricio Reggiardo. The lock was due to have scans early in the week to determine how long he will be out.

At 35, Demotte has made 186 appearances for Agen, 153 in Pro D2 and 33 in the Top 14, across two spells separated by La Rochelle and Grenoble. He is by far the most experienced player in the squad.

Dupichot’s adductors, Serieyssol’s shoulder

Louis Dupichot suffered an adductor injury. The 30-year-old full-back, who arrived last season, had previously played 89 Top 14 games for Racing 92, 23 for Perpignan and 17 for Pau.

Enzo Serieyssol, for his part, felt “some fatigue” in his shoulder, according to the Agen manager. The back-rower had started the evening with a knock-on at the very first phase of play.

A withdrawal before kick-off

The evening had got off to a bad start. Matthieu Bonnet, who was ill, pulled out on the morning of the game. Romain Delemarle, initially not in the squad, replaced him.

Agen conceded four yellow cards and a red, let in 23 points before half-time and lost 14-37. It is their heaviest ever home defeat at Armandie against CA Brive.
