Olympic champions, breakthrough names and players to watch… On Tuesday, the FFR and the LNR unveiled a list of 17 players in Top 14 or Pro D2 who can bolster the France sevens team. With one main target: the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

On that list – and alongside the likes of Nelson Epée, Rayan Rebbadj, Andy Timo and Jefferson Lee-Joseph – are the electric Grégoire Arfeuil (Pau), the athletic Temo Matiu (UBB) and the excellent Esteban Capilla (Bayonne), who has been flamboyant this season.

Other players are also named on the list, including the quick Benmegal (Vannes), Bosmorin (La Rochelle) and Miranda (Dax), as well as the very good Aurillac back-rower Lucas Oudard.
