Lyon have their second signing. For next season, and after the arrival of Tongan prop Opeti Helu, LOU have confirmed the arrival of another prop: Thomas Gallo (26). The Argentina international (35 caps) will arrive on a four-year deal from Benetton Treviso.

A very lively player and powerful in the scrum, Gallo will be a weighty addition to a Lyon pack that badly needs one. “Whether on the sporting or the human side, Thomas’ profile matches the one we had identified for this very specific position of prop. He is young and will be part of the Club for the long term, which is a priority in our recruitment strategy», said a delighted Karim Ghezal, the Lyon manager.

At Toulon on Tuesday, no arrival but an extension. Italy international hooker Gianmarco Lucchesi (25, 33 caps) will stay on the Rade until 2028. Held back by injuries, notably an anterior cruciate ligament rupture in a knee in April 2025, Lucchesi has yet to show the full extent of his talent.

But RCT are backing him. “We are very pleased that Gianmarco has committed until 2028. He is a player who fits perfectly the profile we are looking for: a powerful, dynamic player, able to make ground ball in hand and well rounded on the fundamentals of the position“, said a delighted director of rugby Laurent Emmanuelli.
