Bordeaux-Bègles 57 – Castres 32
At Chaban-Delmas, Bordeaux-Bègles turned rugby into an exercise in speed. Castres tried to impose their discipline, their slow tempo and their familiar traps, but UBB refused to negotiate. Every ball seemed to carry a promise, every gap an invitation. Castres answered with courage, but the Gironde tide was too high. An attacking win, almost insolent, a reminder that Bordeaux no longer just want to charm the Top 14, they want to rule it. A flood of points in a spectacular match with 13 tries.

La Rochelle 33 – Montpellier 43
Deflandre is no longer quite the impregnable fortress, and Montpellier brought the facade down. Sharper, more consistent, the Hérault side advanced methodically, taking advantage of La Rochelle’s hesitations like a patient burglar. Grégory Alldritt’s team-mates tried to cling to their certainties, but doubt crept into the details. MHR, for their part, leave with a win full of maturity, the kind that counts double, and strengthen their place in the top 6.

Bayonne 36 – Racing 92 41
At Jean-Dauger, it was a western. Bayonne attacked without calculation, Racing answered without taking a backward step, and the score galloped away like a riderless horse. The Basques thought they had their big win, as so often at home, but the Paris side have that rare ability to appear when all seems lost. One last surge, one more moment of inspiration, and Racing broke clear. Bayonne fall again at Jean-Dauger, after the reverse against Castres, and can make out the first glimmer of a crisis, one that could cost Grégory Patat.
D'après Midi Olympique, des discussions seraient en cours pour un départ avec effet anticipé entre Grégory Patat et l'Aviron Bayonnais !

Lyon 73 – Montauban 12
There are wins, and then there are storms. Lyon swept everything away. Montauban, brave as they so often are but overwhelmed, watched a total demonstration: power, speed, precision. LOU played like a side (at last) set free, almost joyful in their dominance. The kind of match where everything comes off, where even the bounces seem to be in on it. Where Waniqolo bagged 3 in less than 8 minutes, setting a new championship record. The old tune is back, but the Sapiac players did not disgrace themselves. They simply ran into a stronger side. A much stronger one.

Toulon 14 – Clermont 34
At Mayol, Clermont reminded everyone that rugby remains a matter of character, and that the men from Auvergne have plenty of it in their guts. Toulon tried to contain, to slow things down, even to survive, so far off the pace did the Var side look. But, for once this season, and in emphatic fashion, ASM imposed their tempo, their precision, their clear-headedness. Without excessive flash, but with implacable control. Toulon resisted as best they could, but Clermont had decided to give nothing away. A win full of seriousness, and perhaps of promise. On Pierre Mignoni’s side, however, they are wondering what tomorrow holds, leaving serious doubt hanging over the continuation of his mission at the head of RCT.

Stade Français 9 – Toulouse 13
It was neither pretty nor spectacular, but terribly revealing. Toulouse won on the cheap, like an old campaigner who knows the traps far too well. Paris tried to shake up the established order, without ever finding a way through. Few spaces, plenty of tension, and in the end, a victory for realism. Toulouse did not shine, but confirmed that they are indeed the bosses, even when it comes to winning “ugly”. And that is perhaps even more worrying for the rest.
