The verdict is in for Louis Le Brun. The Castres Olympique fly-half, who went off very early in the match against Bayonne last Saturday, has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. In other words, one of the worst injuries a sportsman can suffer. The race against the clock has already begun for the Var native, who will first have to undergo surgery before starting a long period of rehabilitation.

Le Brun had to be taken off on a stretcher around the 17th minute. A real blow for the player but also for the club, who now have only one specialist fly-half left: Pierre Popelin. Xavier Sadourny should, however, be able to lean on the versatility of scrum-half Jérémy Fernandez or Fijian centre Vilimoni Botitu, both capable of switching to fly-half. Unless a young prospect or a medical joker pops up?
