The heavy storms that hit Lot-et-Garonne on Saturday night left their mark in Agen: SU Agen's artificial training pitch, like the neighbouring football club's surface, was damaged and has been temporarily closed.

According to La Dépêche du Midi, the intense rain shifted the cork infill on the artificial surfaces, a phenomenon already seen in 2022 and 2023 during similar episodes. The damage is limited and does not affect the structure of the pitches, but a refill is needed before they can reopen, "to guarantee optimal playing conditions", according to Moner Haryouli, the city’s deputy mayor for sport. Repair work started on Monday. Good news for the Pro D2 club: SU Agen’s players are on holiday this week, and the situation should be back to normal quickly, without disrupting the rest of their summer preparation.
