Oyonnax run riot at Narbonne
Eight tries to two for Oyonnax, who were already leading 24-0 after 25 minutes. Kevin Lebreton scored a brace in the first quarter of an hour. Luka Matkava added 22 points: a try, seven conversions and a penalty. Narbonne, down to thirteen men between the 52nd and 59th minutes after yellow cards for Caleb Timu and Hugo Navizet, shipped three tries in six minutes (53rd, 58th, 59th). With 28 points out of a possible 30, Oyonnax now lead Provence by three points.
Provence survive at Soyaux-Angoulême
Provence led 25-11 in the 56th minute after tries from Lino Julien, Thibaut Martel and Setareki Bituniyata. SA XV hit back through Mathis Lafon (61st) and then Maxence Lemardelet (77th), but Manuel Portela’s penalty in the 75th minute made the difference. Six wins in six matches for the Provence side. Soyaux-Angoulême take the defensive bonus point.
Brive lose their unbeaten record
On Thursday at Sapiac, Montauban scored four tries to two (Ekuasi, Ahmed, Papunashvili, Amone) and Enzo Hervé racked up 12 points against the club that trained him. Brive stay third with 21 points.
Grenoble by boot, Aurillac at the finish
At Grenoble, Samuel Davies scored 18 points, including six penalties, as the FCG beat Colomiers 23-20. Colomiers, who conceded thirteen penalties to five, come away with the defensive bonus point thanks to Jules Danglot’s try (73rd). Grenoble join Biarritz on 18 points.
At Aurillac, Biarritz led 26-24 after a drop goal from Thomas Dolhagaray (47th), before collapsing. Stade aurillacois scored four tries after the 50th minute (Irakli Mtchedlidze, Benjamin Houston, who scored a brace, Noé Brune and Ronan Loughnane) to win 52-33 with the offensive bonus point. Biarritz finished the match with three yellow cards and a red, the latter for Mathieu Acebes in the 80th minute. Jake Strachan scored 22 points: a try, a penalty and seven conversions from seven.
Agen, Nice and Valence-Romans get back on track
Agen beat Dax 49-30 with seven tries to three, including a brace from hooker Santiago Socino. Craig Willis landed all seven of his conversions. Nice beat Nevers 32-17 with five tries, including two from Clément Egiziano. Valence Romans thrashed Béziers 47-20 with seven tries, including two from Dorian Marco-Pena and two from Louis Marrou. Béziers remain stuck on 8 points.
Nevers, the only club still without a win after six rounds, prop up the table with 4 points.
