Pau keep another locally developed international. Brau-Boirie was contracted until 2028 and has committed for two more seasons.
Pau announced on Monday that Fabien Brau-Boirie has extended his contract until June 2030, with an option for the 2030-31 season. The centre had been under contract until 2028. Sud Ouest first reported the agreement on 21 September. That same evening at the Olympia, he was named revelation of the 2025-26 Top 14 season, ahead of Kalvin Gourgues and Auguste Cadot.
“I’m very happy to stay at the Section. The club’s progress and ambitions strengthened this choice. I feel we can go further with this group, establish ourselves at the top of the table and dream big,” the player said on the club website.
41 matches and 14 tries in Pau colours
Brau-Boirie arrived from Tarbes in the summer of 2023 and made his Top 14 debut in November 2024. He has 41 professional appearances for Pau and 14 tries. Last season he played 20 league matches, 19 as a starter, scoring seven tries in 1,551 minutes. He has started all three matches he has played since the new season began, without leaving the field.
His international rise has been just as quick. He started at centre against Wales and Italy in the 2026 Six Nations, then started three more Tests in July, in New Zealand, Australia and Japan. He has five caps at 20.
A policy of extensions
Pau had already extended Émilien Gailleton, Hugo Auradou, Théo Attissogbe and Jimi Maximin. “This long-term commitment from one of our internationals is a strong sign of confidence in our project,” said director of rugby Sébastien Piqueronies.
The revelation award reflects that policy: Brau-Boirie follows Attissogbe and Gailleton, making three Pau winners in four years. “That’s why I chose to come to Pau, because the playing project excited me,” he told Sud Ouest.
One file remains open at the club: that of wing Grégoire Arfeuil, who is out of contract at the end of the season. According to Midi Olympique, Pau have offered him an extension, but Toulon, Clermont, Lyon and Montpellier have shown interest.
The World Cup in mind
Pau have won three of their first four matches, the latest against La Rochelle (39-17). Brau-Boirie, who turns 21 in December, makes no secret of his other goal: “A World Cup, especially at 21, is a dream. For now I’m very focused on my club,” he told Sud Ouest.
