The rugby transfer market, much like football’s, has been busy since the start of the season. At Toulon, tighthead prop Kyle Sinckler (32) could leave the club at the end of the campaign.

The Englishman with 68 caps for England could return home in order to play at the next World Cup in Australia. The information was revealed by the Daily Mail. The problem is that Sinckler’s contract runs until June 2027.

In France, and even if no club has been explicitly named, South African centre Jesse Kriel (31, 87 caps) is in demand. The double world champion (2019, 2023) has spent the past five years in Japan, with the Yokohama Canon Eagles.

Newcastle just keep going

An important player in Rassie Erasmus’ set-up alongside the likes of Damian de Allende, Kriel is also being sounded out in England. Across the Channel, indeed, the transfer of All Black Hoskins Sotutu (27, 14 caps) to Newcastle has been confirmed.

Another big coup for the current bottom club in the Premiership, recently bought out by the Red Bull brand. New Zealander Tom Christie, South African Boeta Chamberlain, England’s Christian Wade and Wales’ Liam Williams have already signed there. With more to come…
