RC Vannes confirmed in a statement that their centre will not play again after a serious knee injury. Arrate played only 70 minutes this season, in round three against Mont-de-Marsan, before medical examinations established the extent of the damage. Faced with that physical constraint, the player chose to end his career.

A product of the Biarritz Olympique academy, Arrate then spent five seasons at Stade Français, where he built up solid experience at the very top level. In 2023 he joined the Breton club, with whom he experienced one of the high points of his career: winning the Pro D2 title in 2024 and the historic promotion to the Top 14. His influence on the game and his commitment on the pitch were recognised by team-mates and supporters alike.
In a video posted by the player, Arrate says it was “the body that said stop”, speaking of the emotion and the passion that drove him throughout his career. The Morbihan club announced that a tribute would be paid to him on Friday evening at La Rabine, before the match against Biarritz Olympique, the club where he came through.
