Castres had no choice left. After the serious injury to Louis Le Brun (ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in the right knee) and that of Pierre Popelin (muscle injury) against Toulouse, the Tarn club had to sign a medical joker at fly-half. CO found what they were looking for by signing Toulon fly-half Enzo Hervé, short of game time since the start of the season.

“Enzo joined the squad on Monday and will be available for the club’s upcoming fixtures“, the club statement reads. He could therefore make his debut as early as this weekend, at home to Racing 92 on Saturday (4.35pm). Developed at Le Bugue in the Dordogne, Hervé then completed his training at Brive, where he also spent three professional years. Before joining Toulon in 2023.

Often kept out of the side by Italy’s Paolo Garbisi, Hervé had come close to leaving RCT last summer. A swap with Louis Carbonel of Stade Français was even mooted. At 26, the fly-half will discover a new club with ambition and, above all, one in need of points after the hiding it took on Sunday night against Stade Toulousain.
