Are all levels accepted?
Yes: from district level to international competitions, as well as touch judges, TMOs and match commissioners.
Is my level verified?
The declared level is verified by cross-checking against known official appointments. A "verified" badge is added when they match.
Can I hide my contact details?
Yes. You choose what is public (career, level) and what is not (phone, address).
Is there a fee to sign up?
No. The referee account is free, like all our community profiles.
What if I am a referee and a player, or the other way round?
You can have a player profile AND a referee profile linked to the same account. It is actually quite common.
Can I close my account later?
Yes, at any time. But two things need to be distinguished to understand what is erased and what is not.
Your personal data (email, profile photo, biography, contact details) is deleted or anonymised on simple request. It belongs to you and you stay in control of it, in line with the GDPR.
Your public data (past appointments, approved refereeing levels, refereed team sheets), however, is kept. Why? Because it forms journalistic archives of public interest, just like any sports press database. The French press freedom law of 29 July 1881 and the GDPR itself (Article 17(3)(a)) explicitly provide for this exception: a score, a referee's report or a list of honours cannot be erased on individual request, otherwise the collective history of rugby would fade away over time.
In practice: we guarantee your GDPR rights over everything relating to your personal identity, and we preserve the sports archives, like any media outlet covering rugby. Full GDPR policy in the footer.
